The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) is a government organization under the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Government of Nepal and is mandated to provide all hydrological and meteorological services in Nepal.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has been supporting the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) process by preparing periodic climate reports of historical observation and future scenario in collaboration with various governmental and non-governmental organizations. Recently in 2017, DHM had published a report entitled “Observed Climate Trend of Nepal: 1971-2014” which has become a national document on historical climate change status in Nepal. Furthermore, DHM has a legally bonded responsibility to update climate change status for Nepal for both historical and future period in every five years as mentioned in “Environment Protection Regulation-2077”. As a part of its responsibility, DHM is going to conduct a research work to update the climate change status for Nepal. For this purpose, DHM invites the consulting service of national consultants.

The major objectives of this program are:
• To evaluate the performance of the Couple Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 (CMIP6) Simulation for Nepal.
• To downscale CMIP6 projection data for Nepal.
• To prepare a report on future climate change over Nepal under different climate change scenarios for different periods.
