The Study on Climate Impact Adaptation and Mitigation in Asian Coastal Mega Cities. In Tokyo, Japan and Manila, the Philippines
Project focuses on comprehensive flood mitigation strategies. These encompass the development of critical infrastructure such as flood barriers and drainage systems, alongside the implementation of nature-based solutions like wetland restoration and mangrove conservation. Furthermore, urban planning measures, community engagement initiatives, investment in early warning systems, ecosystem restoration efforts, and regional cooperation endeavors are integral components of the flood mitigation framework. Through a multifaceted approach that combines engineering solutions, environmental stewardship, community empowerment, and international collaboration, the project aims to enhance the resilience of Asian Coastal Mega Cities against the increasing risks of flooding exacerbated by global warming and socio-economic activities.
